How we met
By Rachel Jebaraj
I am speaking for many a girl when I say, we all think about the man we want to marry, long, long before our time. How he will look, what kind of person he’d be, and the great ways we’ll share doing life together. More than that, I think God knows what kind of person is the best for us and then little things in that person that would make us happy that we don’t even see.
I remember when Mark and I were looking through an antique shop on one of our dates, and he remarked that some suitcases would make us look like ‘a time traveling couple’. His interest in old and vintage things was not something I ever anticipated someone I would marry liking, but God was thinking of it when He picked Mark out for me. I’ve had an odd interest in old timey things for years that I never expected anyone to share with me, let alone like. I’m so happy that God was looking out for me.
I don’t think I ever got a particular feeling that Mark was ‘the one.’ It was just a series of green flags and open doors that God was allowing me to get to know him better and know myself better.
If anyone asks me what to do in order to find the one right person, I would simply say, live your life and wait.
In God, there are no, ‘ones that got away’, only the one you are meant to have.
